Governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday told the workers  of the State to vote according to their conscience in the March 28 presidential and April 11 State and  National Assembly elections.

30 feared killed in Benue communities by Fulani herders

No fewer than 30 people were feared killed with many sustaining varying degrees of injuries in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, after suspected Fulani herdsmen in their large numbers sacked over 24 communities and villages in the area.
Some of the affected communities included Chembe, Tse-Mue, Tse-Shigbe, Mgbakpa and Oragbai all in Ukemberagya council ward, which is four kilometers away from Anyiin, Governor Gabriel Suswam’s country home.

10 Parties Vow To Resist Jonathan’s Plot To Remove Jega From INEC (Names Of Parties That Are Supporting Jega)

 Attahiru Jega as chairman of INECThe coalition of progressive political parties, which comprises 10 registered political parties, says it will resist any attempt to change the current composition of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The political parties are Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), Accord Party (AP), African Peoples Alliance (APA), Kowa Party, Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP), United Progressives Party (UPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Congress, Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Peoples Party (DPP). The group was reacting to reports that subterranean plots were underway to remove Attahiru Jega as chairman of INEC. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Bashir Yusuf, national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Movement, expressed the group’s disappointment with the decision of INEC to postpone the general election.

2015 polls: Nnamani warns PDP to beware of sabotage

Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, has decried the antics of fifth columnists within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially in Enugu East Senatorial District, and advised party members to be watchful and not relent until victory is achieved.
Addressing a huge crowd of supporters at the PDP campaign rally held yesterday at the headquarters of Enugu South Local Government Area of the state, Nnamani said PDP members, who left the party and those working against the party from within, could destroy the party if not checked.

11th AJC: Eaglets depart for Niger tomorrow

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to the African Junior Championship billed for Mali will tomorrow depart for the championship with a team of 21 players, 10 officials and an undisclosed number of administrative officials
The team is expected to depart by road from Sokoto for Niamey and the contigents are billed to stay at the Hotel Royale Palace, with their first two matches (against host Niger Republic and Guinea) at the Stade General Seyni Kountche, while the last match (against Zambia) will take place at the Stade Municipal, which has an artificial turf.
