Earlier this week, Samantha Harris publicly announced the scary news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would undergo a double mastectomy later this month.
However, she still has the heartbreaking task of sharing the news with her two daughters, Josselyn Sydney Hess and Hillary Madison Hess.
At just 3 and 6-years-old, Samantha revealed that she and her husband Michael Hess are still deciding how they want to tell their girls:
"They don't know yet. I want them to hear from me first what Mommy has and that I'm going to be fine. I don't want them to be afraid."Due to their age differences, Samantha says she and her husband plan on telling each of their daughters separately, and one of the options they're exploring is telling them through a video.
She goes on to say:
"The day we found out while it was still fresh in our minds, we made a video. I don't know if we'll end up showing it to them, but at least we have the option."Samantha has been very optimistic about taking control of the situation, however, this is definitely not an easy task.
Hopefully she's able to find a way to assure her girls that their mommy is a fighter and that everything's going to be OK!
