Buhari Promises To Grow Non-Oil Sector Of Economy

The Presidential Candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammad Buhari, on Wednesday promised to use the non-oil sector to boost Nigeria’s economy, if elected.
Buhari made the promise in Calabar at a Presidential Campaign rally.
“Our main objective is to make sure that agriculture and other non-oil sector get priority to give opportunities to every Nigerian so that Nigerians, whether educated or not, will have gainful employment,’’ he said.
Buhari said his administration would also restore the lost glory of education and address the problem of power supply to resuscitate ailing industries in the country.

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Wednesday said there are dangers in electing Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the opposition party All Progressives Congress, APC, as the President of Nigeria come February 14.
Mr. Fani-Kayode, who is the spokesperson of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team, said the group will expose the dangers he described.
He said this at a news conference in Abuja.

A former governor of Nasarawa State and Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, has said Nigerians were no longer at ease with President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Senator, who is seeking re-election to the Senate under the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated this at Kurudu village of the state during his campaign.

Despite being defeated at the Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries, former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, seem determined to return to the Oyo Government House as he has defected to the Labour Party (LP) where he has reportedly been offered the party’s governorship ticket.

Daily Independent reports that a leader of LP in Oke-Ogun area of the state had told other gubernatorial aspirants, including Sharafadeen Alli, Nurudeen Akinyo, Kazeem Adedeji and Olu Abiala, to allow Alao-Akala get the ticket because of his war chest.
